IMPORTANCE OF THIS WORK

In the predominantly white town of Portland, Oregon, students of color, specifically African American, Latine and Indigenous students are more likely to be overrepresented for discipline referrals, suspensions, and expulsions. This trend is sadly a nationwide one, not just specific to Portland.  

Students who are suspended or expelled even ONCE have a FOUR TIMES GREATER chance of ending up in prison.
